Costs
Professional driving skills are becoming more crucial in a world that places a high value on transport, both for economic activity and for the transportation of people and goods. However, acquiring this skill isn't cheap. There are many expenses to consider, including the costs of training and exam. In the Netherlands the cost for obtaining Code 95 can be as high as 3000 euros. The costs of obtaining this certificate in Poland can be as low as 1500 to 2000 PLN.
For truck drivers needing a Code 95 certificate is necessary to drive trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons in Europe. The certificate is valid for five years and must be added to the driver's license category C or C+E. It is also possible to add it to a C1 or C1E license which permits the driver to drive trailers with lighter weights.
You must be able to pass a psychological test as well as a medical examination to receive a Code 95 Certificate. After completing the course you will be issued the plastic Code 95 certificate that can be inserted into your driving license. The cost of the course includes a medical exam, PKZ service, payment for the plastic Code 95 certificate, and theoretical lessons.
The cost of the Code 95 Certificate is the same as other types of driving lessons. It is important to remember that the course must be held at a CBR-approved driving academy. After the course, the participant must go to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate to apply for a new licence. Additionally the driver should be able to read the speed limit and kilometer signs on the road.
Options for training
Code 95 is an indication on your driving license that you have met the requirements of training to drive buses and trucks professionally. This is a requirement you must meet every five years to renew your permit. The 35-hour periodical training can be completed at a driving school or at home using the internet-based learning. It is possible to spread the course over a five-year time frame. Your employer could cover the cost of the courses.
There are two kinds of training available for Code 95: the long course and the short course. The long course lasts approximately four weeks long and concludes with a federal exam. After passing the test, you can receive a plastic card. The card must be entered into the database of unification European certificates. The institution where you took your classes will then submit the card to the database. The card will be processed in 14 days.
The course will cost you approximately 2,000 PLN, while the exam costs 300 PLN. Additionally, you will need pay a fee to the school to submit your certificate to the unifying European database. Once the card is ready you can take it from the school.
As a trainer you must adhere to certain guidelines to be able to give a class that meets Code 95. You must first submit a plan of instruction to the CBR. The plan must be approved by the CBR prior to classes begin. You will also need to adhere to other strict guidelines during the course.
After you have successfully completed the course, you will receive a certification of ongoing training from the CBR. You can then send this to the RDW. You will then be able renew your license at the municipality after submitting successfully. If you do not renew your license prior to the expiry date, then you will be unable to drive trucks or buses professionally for more than 12 hours a week. You'll need to complete another course of instruction if you would like to drive for more than 12 hours a week again.
Exams

You must pass both the theoretical and practical tests to earn the code 95 on your license. These tests can be taken separately or as part of the acquisition of a basic category licence at a driving academy. If you pass the exam, you will be awarded a certificate as well as a code 95 card. The card is valid for 5 years and must be renewed before the expiration date.
You can choose between either a short or a lengthy course for the code 95 exam, depending on the course of study. The long course is about four weeks and ends with a governmental exam. In this test you will be asked to answer 30 questions on the subjects covered during your classes.
After passing the code 95 exam, you must adhere to a minimum of 35 hours of regular training (nascholing) every five years. This can be done in the country where you live or work. The regular training is conducted by an instructor. The CBR provides an online tool to find a teacher. You will receive a certification from both your teacher and CBR after you have completed the course. The CBR will inform the RDW that you have completed your training.
A digital tachograph is required for vehicles with a weight of more than 3,500 kilograms. The tachograph registers the time of driving and rest times and saves them to a tachograph card. To drive a truck, you must have the driver's licence C. This is the biggest driver's license in Europe. In prawo jazdy a1 , the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You also must pass an exam for medical conditions.
You also must have an driving license C or D for buses as well as passenger cars. The requirements for bus drivers are different than those for trucks and passenger cars, since they must pass a written test and an oral test. In addition, they must be able to show a code 85 which is a proof of their professionalism.
Requirements

If you plan to transport dangerous items, you will have to complete an additional ADR driver training course (18-hours). This will grant you the five-year ADR driver's training certificate. All professional drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods must complete this course.
In 2011, a new design of licence for trucks as well as buses was introduced.
